To keep residents safe, these settings expect their care staff to be trained in first aid and CPR.

De eis inzake eerste hulp
Staff who work directly with residents are expected to hold current CPR and first-aid training. In South Carolina, entering and completing the state-approved 100-hour nurse aide training program requires a current CPR and First Aid certification at the healthcare-provider level, so aides reach the floor already trained to respond to cardiac and choking emergencies.
A recognized, up-to-date CPR and first-aid certificate is the way to meet this requirement; it is in addition to the aide's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
